I'm talking about that automatic anxious feeling in your stomach when you don't know exactly what's going on. Feeling that the outcome's going to be bad in any unclear situation. Not being able to make an important decision because you don't have all the facts, or making it too quickly to make the uncertainty go away. Putting off work when you're not sure what you're doing. Avoiding situations where you can't be sure what's going to happen. 

That's intolerance of uncertainty.

Module 3: What is Intolerance of Uncertainty?

This module gives you some ways to think about IU, and to understand why you might not have been able to ignore it.

Module 4: How does Intolerance of Uncertainty Work?

This module explains what's going on with the worries and behaviours that surround IU, so you can understand what you're dealing with when you work on fixing it.

Module 5: Changing Beliefs about Uncertainty

This module looks at the unhelpful thought processes, cognitive biases, and negative beliefs about uncertainty, and explains why it's better to improve your tolerance than try to control your thoughts.

Module 6: Changing Emotional Responses to Uncertainty

In this module we talk about dealing with worries that will remain even after increasing tolerance of uncertainty; the impact of IU on emotion, resilience and motivation; IU and narrative identity; and strategies for emotion regulation and problem solving.

Module 7: Changing Behavioural Responses to Uncertainty

In this module we look at fight or flight, rumination and the behavioural inhibition system; work through safety behaviours, and look at how the relationship between identity and uncertainty can affect your behaviour.

Module 8: Relapse Prevention

This module walks through relapse prevention, good mental hygiene, at-risk strategies, and planning for the future.
